Thai Massage is not only healthy, it's a perfect form of relaxation, too. It is as well a form of therapeutical health care based on ancient medicine as a form of passive meditation and physical recreation.
Traditional Thai Massage parlours and "spas" that provide
Thai, Foot and Oil Massage as well as Aroma Therapy or Herbal Massage can be found all over Pattaya and Jomtien. Prices approximate 200 THB per hour for Thai or Foot Massage and 300 THB for an Oil Massage. However, in order to fully benefit from a traditional massage, a two-hours session is recommended.
Important: Traditional Thai Massage is a therapeutic practice and not to be confused with a soapy "Body Massage" which is more precisely described as an erotic body-to-body massage using a lot of soapy water and provides "holistic" relaxation of the body including a "happy ending".

Thai Massage, in Thai language known as nuat paen boran which correctly translates to "ancient" or "traditional" massage, originates from the Indian subcontinent and is based on Ayurveda and Yoga techniques. In opposition to a widespread Western misconception,
traditional Thai massage has no sexual connotation at all, so the gender of the massage practitioner should have no effect on your therapeutic benefits, no matter whether you're male
or female.
At the beginning of a massage session the massage recipient changes into loose and comfortable pyjama-like clothes and lies on a mat or firm mattress on the ground whilst the massage practitioner leans on the recipient's body, using hands, fingers, elbows and feet to apply firm, rhythmic pressure. Thai massage follows the so-called "Sen" lines on the recipient's body, somehow analogous to energy lines or meridians.
Traditional Thai massage sessions provide a holistic physical experience both relaxing and healthy. Typically the massager starts with the feet and legs of the recipient who initially lies on his back. This is followed by hands, arms, back and neck massage and, depending on the practitioner's style, a short head and face massage. Legs and feet of the massager can be used to fixate the body of the recipient. In other styles, the hands fixate the body and limbs while the practitioner's feet do the massaging action. Although oil is not being used in traditional Thai Massage, Oil Massage is available, too, at a slightly higher price.
A full Thai massage session usually lasts two hours and includes rhythmic pressing and stretching of the entire body of the recipient which may include the pulling of fingers, toes and ears, cracking the knuckles or walking on the recipient's back. Whereas this might sound painful, traditional Thai massage provided by a trained and certified practitioner should not actually hurt but be both relaxing and healthy for the recipient's entire body and soul. If you find your massager's style too "aggressive" just let him/her know - they should readily swift to a "softer" style. Otherwise try an oil massage or an "Aroma Oil Masage" which provide softer forms of relaxation.
Thai Massage Manual

Foot massage, as the name says, is performed on the feet of the recipient. Foot "Reflexology" is based on the ancient Chinese belief that hundreds of reflex zones in our feet correspond to certain organs in our body and that by professional manipulating of these zones healing of certain symptoms and syndromes in the respective organs can occur. As studies have shown, Foot massage also yields release of stress in the massage recipient. As many diseases (especially heart diseases) are caused by excessive stress, Foot massage can have an indirect positive impact on the patient's physical well-being.

Body Massage

Body Massage is exceedingly popular with local Thai and Asian tourists and probably better known as a
"soapy massage". Such a "soapy" is more than just a body massage, a more precise description would be "Body-To-Body" massage - this means, all parts of the body of your sexy masseuse have a share in providing satisfaction and relief. The basic idea is that you get a full body massage lubricated with lots of soapy water and followed by a round of physical exercises on the mattress, in other words: sex.
Upon entering a Body massage parlour you should find yourself in a dimly-lit room facing a panoramic glass front ("fish bowl") behind which the massage providers, often dressed in posh evening gowns, are seated (and watch TV). After making your choice, your massage girl will take you to a private room. Following the usual shower you may lean back, relax all parts of your body and enjoy her "soapy" body-to-body massage resulting in full sensual relief.
Prices for this special kind of massage service usually start at 1500 Baht up (including sexual services. If the price should cover only the basic massage you will have to agree on a price for extra services before the session kicks off.)
Quite a few traditional massage parlours may provide a standard Thai or Oil massage yet accompanied or followed by a few less traditional extras like a hand-job, balls-massage, a BJ or even more? Quite a few of these so-called
"dirty massage" parlours are located on Soi Honey between Pattaya Second Road and Soi Buakhao but can be found all over town. These less common massage practices typically result in a "happy ending" for which additional services you'll be expected to tip the girl (or boy). Expect to pay 300 to 500 THB extra for a BJ or "chuck-wao" (hand-job).
