Pook Ladyboys AGoGo on Soi 6 is (so far) Pattaya's only GoGo bar strictly dedicated to chrome pole-dancing ladyboys. It's a big open bar with dancing stages on the first floor, open from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m. According to information from their website, a "ladyboy body to body massage" will soon open on the second floor. Upon entering Pook AGoGo, an ladyboy-crazy English friend of mine called out: "This must be the best bar in Pattaya!" Could be - provided you're into ladyboys?
Pattaya Beach Road
The promenade along Pattaya Beach Road, especially in the areas of Soi Yamato, Soi Post Office and the Pattayaland Sois, is a popoular meeting point for local freelance ladyboys. They usually hang around in little groups and chat passers-by up, trying to get them engaged in a short-time session in one of the nearby guesthouses. Apart from Walking Street and Soi 6 this is your safest bet on where to meet Pattaya ladyboys.
Unfortunately though, the dimly-lit Beach Road promenade is also the area where most kathoey-related crimes have been reported: bag snatching, fights with aggressive ladyboys or robberies. Frequent police raids usually just end up in charging the ladyboys a hundred Baht or so. So be careful - especially when you've had a few drinks - and keep an eye on their long-fingered hands to make sure one isn't grabbing for your wallet whilst the other one is rubbing your dick. When the situation gets out of control (after you've turnt down an unambiguous offer and offended the ladyboy's pride), it's better to leave the area than getting into trouble and ending up confronted with ten or so violent kathoeys, possible under the influence of Yaba, beating you up with their fists and high heels.
Other Ladyboy Locations
More and more ladyboys have recently been spotted along the promenade on Jomtien beach road, most in the areas around Soi Whitehouse, Soi 5 or Soi 7, during the late evening and early morning hours. As with the ladyboys on Pattaya beach road, however, there's no guarantee for your safety, even when just chatting.
Sally's Bar on Jomtien Soi 5 (also known as Soi Post office), a shophouse bar owned by a kathoey and her Briitish husband, employs a mix of both ladyboys and girls.
Reportedly a few bars in Sunee Plaza, one of Pattaya's favourite gay areas which frequently makes the headlines with freelancing underage boys, also employ ladyboys, some very young, so please check their ID cards before taking them back to your room.
Pook Swan House on Soi Buakhao, operated by the same owners as Pook Ladyboy AGoGo on Soi 6, has recently been converted into a ladyboy bar with dancing poles on both sides of the outside bar. Lots of ladyboys (90%)plus a few girls. Room rental available in the guesthouse upstairs.
