How To Make Money With Your Website?
Paid Online Surveys, Get-Paid-To-Click And Other Scams
If you've ever googled for internet business, make money online or related search termes on a search engine, then you've probably come across some dodgy websites that promised you could make easy money by taking online surveys or to pay you big cash just for clicking a few websites per day (Get-
Paid-Per-Click). Some might even masquerade as "review sites" that "warn" of you of frequent online scams - just to make you click yet another link to the "ultimate make-easy-money-online" website, 100% no scam, of course. You might even have to pay a "registration fee" to get access to a database of online survey providers, and they will all give you the most logical reasons why companies should pay you to get your opinion! Market research (online surveys) saves companies from billion $ losses they might otherwise have to invest into developing new products which no-one would ever buy - so they would rather give you a piece of the cake!? The truth, unfortunately, is that companies will still not share their profits with you for giving them your valuable opinion :(
As far as online surveys are concerned (I won't waste my time with Paid-Per-
Click sites), I have personally tested a few online survey sites, initially hoping for easy cash. To be fair, I haven't made only negative experiences but I have definitely made no money. To cut a long story short: serious market research companies will most probably not pay you big cash for taking surveys online, even if so, payments are extremely low in comparison to the time it takes to take a professional survey. And you should not expect a dozen or so surveys every day either; most likely (depending on your profile) you would receive an invitation by email to participate in a new survey not more than a few times per month.
Less serious survey websites might, at least in the beginning, virtually spam you with email invitations to take super-easy online surveys which insist of nothing else than clicking a fancy website banner, staying on that site for 30 or so seconds and writing a one-sentence review about it. I have managed to accumulate a few dollars within minutes on one these sites - then less and less "surveys" were available, and I finally have up without ever reaching the "payout minimum". In other words, just a waste of time.
More dangerous websites might promise on their homepage to reveal the ten magic secrets of "how to make easy money online" and then require you to purchase a useless e-book - with which purchase they might pass on the right to you to resell this e-book to others. Such dodgy websites, run by "online marketing gurus", are 99.9% not just a waste of time but also a
waste of money. Caution!
Ebay Auctions - PayPal
Selling products on Ebay or similar auction sites, on the other hand, might seriously provide you with a lucrative second income, provided you've done some "market research" and offer the right product at the right price. There are probably dozens of products which are cheaper in Thailand than in your home country, and if you're short of ideas what might be worth selling, just search for Thailand-related articles on Ebay and see what your competitors offer at what prices - then simply copy their business ideas until you have found a "niche" that suits your personal interest? To start with, how about Thai handicrafts, Muay Thai boxer shorts, T-shirts, leather belts or health products? Just go on a shopping tour to a local market and keep in mind what people from your home country would buy if they were in Thailand themselves?
Payment is generally easy via PayPal. However, if you have a Thai-registered Ebay account and want to receive payments in Thailand or pay for your Ebay fees via PayPal (in which case you have to upload funds from your Thai bank account to your PayPal account), you might face stiff difficulties when trying to couple your Thai bank account with your PayPal account. In order to verify a PayPal account, usually credit card information is required, and chances to have a credit card issued as a foreigner in Thailand are very, very low. Some have reported they successfully coupled Bangkok Bank or K-Bank accounts with their Thai-registered PayPal accounts by using ordinary Visa Electron debit cards (ATM cards); other Thai debit cards (e.g. TMB Visa debit card) will simply not be accepted by PayPal's strict verification system.
Warning: Be careful when selling products on Ebay (or similar websites) that
violate international copyright laws (fake designer clothing, football shirts or "Rolex" watches). First, your articles might simply get lost at the customs in their destination country, secondly, Ebay would at least ban you if a client filed an official complaint with them or Ebay otherwise found out you were selling fake products (not to mention, legal consequences).
Website Business - Domain Names - Web Hosting
If you should already be a successful online vendor but want to reach a wider audience and more potential buyers for your products than you can on Ebay or similar sites, then setting up your own online store and selling products via the internet might be the next logical step for you (e-commerce).
Another reason to create your own website could be to promote an already existing non-web based business (guesthouse, bar etc.) and to provide an online platform for potential future customers who otherwise might not even know your business existed or to keep in touch with patrons.
Or you turn your website into a small business itself by promoting so-called "affiliate programs" and advertise for other companies' products and services by placing customized links (text or banner) to their websites on your pages. In case of a visitor's business engagement via a link from your website to one of your affiliate partners' sites, you will get paid a commision in return.
This third option can be a perfect extra-earner for webmasters who provide only information on their site and neither sell their own products nor have an existing business to promote.
So what do you need to get your own website online?
Domain name
In order to publish a website on the web you will need to purchase a domain name. A domain is so-to-say the "name" of a website or "web address", e.g. www.mywebsite.com. Depending on the kind or geographical target of your website business, different extensions are available, e.g. .com, .org, .biz, .info, .us, .co.uk and many more. Domain names can be purchased directly from a domain name registrar or, indirectly, through one or more layers of resellers, e.g. a web host. Prices vary roughly between $ 8-30 per year.
Web Hosting Service
Once you have purchased a domain name, you'll need a web host in order to publish your site on the internet. Web hosting service "allows individuals and organizations or companies to provide their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server they own for use by their clients as well as providing Internet connectivity".
When publishing your website it will be uploaded to the IP address of "your" server. Most commonly your web site will be placed on the same server as many other sites, ranging from a few to hundreds or thousands (Shared Web Hosting). Advertisement-supported free web hosting services are available as well and might be fully sufficient for single-page personal websites but cannot be recommended for commercial use.
Last but not least, of course, you will have to create the website itself. Certainly that's the hardest part, and if you have no or only very little HTML
or coding knowledge you may consider hiring a professional web designer
to create a website customized to your personal needs. Then again - you
can achieve the same results entirely for free! If you're a creative mind and have the most basic computer knowledge, enjoy new challenges and are willing to learn, you might be surprised how easy it can be to create and publish a fully functionable website yourself without learning complicated "sign languages" which are the page source of every web page. No HTML, Javascript or other programming language knowledge is required to create anything - from a simple personal homepage to a professional multi-page website including whatever fancy features you can think of!

How To Create A Website Without HTML Knowledge?
No or, depending on which program you choose to use, only verly little HTML or coding knowledge is required to create your own website when using a so-
called WYSIWYG editor or website builder. WYSIWYG stands for What you see is what you get. WYSIWYG editors are code generators - their software automatically generates the code (HTML or whatsoever) which is the base of every web page. The interface you see of offline on your monitor screen when creating a page (before publishing it to the web) resembles pretty much what this page will actually look like when vistors view it online in a web browser. The difference is that you can edit it - commonly by using a simple "drag & drop" sitebuilder system.
"Drag & drop" means that - instead of writing the website code itself - all you have to do is click symbols in toolbars to insert text boxes, image boxes or whatever features are abailable, and simply fill this box with your text. The sitebuilder software will then automatically convert your pages to e.g. HTML and make them readable for search engines.
Of course, not all WYSIWYG website builders provide users with the same functionality and value for money. Some website builders are easier to use than others, some offer less, others more advanced features; some might have the drawback that they tie you to expensive web hosting contracts; some might be cheaper than competitors, others are totally free.
Free Website Builders
BlueVoda is the free website builder provided by Vodahost Web Hosting service, based in the USA. This easy-to-use Drag & Drop website builder enables a user with little or no experience to build a fantastic website. No HTML or coding knowledge is required. However, Vodahost does not only provide professional website building software that perfectly suits beginners but is one of the most trusted and reputable web hosting providers on the internet and offers very affordable hosting packages (more below).
This website Pattaya-Funtown is hosted by Vodahost, and of course I have created all the contents of my site - including this page you are just reading - with the BlueVoda website builder (BV). Before I started creating my first ever page I've had zero knowledge of HTML or whatever complicated programming languages there might be, and - I have to admit - due to the fact I hardly ever needed it, my coding skills are still extremely poor. I am simply typing these words you are just reading into a "text box" which I have opened by clicking the text icon in the BV toolbar. Then this text box can be dragged anywhere on the page, the width can easily be adjusted by dragging one of the text box handles, and a double-click lets you enter text. By clicking the image icon or photo gallery icon in the toolbar you can easily insert images from your "My Pictures" folder, resize them by dragging the handles surrounding the image area and "drag and drop" them at the desired position.
Sounds easy? Is easy!
And there is hardly any limit to all the more advanced features you might need to create a fully functional, professionally designed website, not a just a personal homepage. Such features (amongst others) include: photo galleries, menubars, PayPal shopping cart, tables, forms, guestbook, banner and logo design, pre-designed website templates, headers and much more. By simply clicking toolbar icons you can insert iframes or add HTML, flash, movies and music files or java code to your web pages. The "Preview" function lets you preview your pages in your default web browser. And if you're finally ready to publish your creation, it takes only one click to upload your site to the web and get it online.
Once you have signed up for a hosting account, you will get access to your personal cPanel (control panel). This cPanel allows you to create unlimited email accounts and provides you with many exciting features, e.g. AwStats where you can check how many visitors your website has, where they come from and how long they stayed, which of your pages are most popular, via which links people have visited your site and much more.
BlueVoda also provides a built-in help system, a community forum with 1000s of registered helpful members as well as step-by-step video tutorials that will have you designing your new web site in record time.
Interested? Just give it a try! You can download BlueVoda straight away and at no cost. Just save it to your computer's desktop, have a look around their built-in video tutorials and start creating your first web pages literally within minutes. You can try BlueVoda including all its fancy features totally free of charge and for as long as you like before you decide for a domain name for your finished website creation and sign up for a hosting account in order to get "your baby" online.
Download BlueVoda
or visit the Vodahost homepage to learn more about BlueVoda, watch video tutorials or visit the Vodahost support forum where you'll find answers to all your questions!
(PS: Before coming across BV and publishing my site with Vodahost, I have tried a few different sitebuilders including CoffeeCup, Yahoo Sitebuilder and a few others I downloaded and quickly deleted. To be honest, I wasted a lot of time away with Yahoo's sitebuilder, not because it's bad, it isn't really, but I found their web hosting packages simply too expensive, and Yahoo couldn't provide me with a payment method that was acceptable for me. Most of the contents of this website had originally been created with Yahoo's software before, pretty much by accidence, I came across BV and gave it a try. No regrets so far, to say the least!
Of course you can google for "free website builders", check Wikipedia's list
of WYSIWYG editors or - if you've got more advanced coding knowledge or want to spend three months on learning new software, you might decide for "Adobe Dreamweaver" (not free) or similar products. But if you're looking for free sitebuilding software that allows total beginners to create professional websites including whatever features you fancy and cheap yet quality web hosting packages, you should definitely give BlueVoda a try and download
it at no cost and risk.)
If you sign up for a Vodahost web hosting package you will be able to host unlimited websites per account. No matter how many websites with different domain names you want to publish, you will only need one Vodahost hosting account.
Disk Space of 600 Gigabytes (!) and 6000 Gigabytes (!) monthly bandwidth mean there is virtually no limit to how many pages your site may consist of or how many visitors will be able to visit you online. Another important feature is the 99.9% average uptime of the Vodahost servers.
Vodahost offers monthly billing, annual and tri-annual billing at extremely affordable rates. If you should not live in the US and have no credit card, payment can also be made by using Moneybookers or PayPal. And as a bonus, the above payment methods include one free domain registration.
Monthly Billing US$ 30 Setup fee + US$ 9.95 Per Month
Annual Billing US$ 95.40 per year = US$ 7.95 per month
Tri -Annual Billing US$ 197 every 36 months = US$ 5.47/ month
"Electronic commerce", commonly known as e-commerce or eCommerce, consists of the purchasing and selling of products or services over electronic systems such as the Internet. The amount of trade conducted electronically has grown extraordinarily since the spread of the World Wide Web. A wide variety of commerce is conducted in this way, and many small home-based proprietors are able to use the internet to sell goods. Often small sellers use online auction sites such as Ebay in order to take advantage of the exposure and setup convenience of such sites.
Have you also tried Ebay or similar auction sites and tried to sell products online? Or would you prefer to go one step further and set up your own online store and sell products on the internet via your own personal website?
Then Vodahost's free Soholaunch website builder might provide you with the perfect solution to get your business online - including all the more advanced features you need for a professional presentation of your products on the net and receiving payments electronically.
In contrast to BV, Soholaunch is not PC-based, this means, you can build your website from any computer and directly online (no download required).
"Soholaunch" enables beginners to create fully functional websites with eCommerce capabilities through a user-friendly interface and gives you the power to create database-driven eCommerce systems quickly and easily, regardless of your technical experience level. Soholaunch is an alternative
to the popular osCommerce shopping cart.
For Soholaunch the same hosting fees, account specifications and payment methods apply as for BlueVoda (see above), including one free domain name registration per hosting account.

Affiliate Marketing: How To Make Money With Your Website?
The truth is: If your website provides only information and you don't sell any original products to your visitors directly, you will probably find it hard to turn your website into a lucrative business. Most likely you will not even half-way make a living - unless you've managed to build up mutual trust between you and your visitors and you get a few hundreds of them (at least) on your site every day. In the latter case so-called "Affiliate Marketing" might well provide you with an additional income. Most probably this might be pocket money only, and you will definitely not become a millionaire or "rich jerk" by simply promoting affiliate programs. However, depending the subject and quality of your site, the number of visitors you get per day and their readiness to click your affiliate ads and get engaged in business activities (purchase a product, sign up for a service or similar), you might be lucky and earn a decent extra income?
So what is "affiliate marketing"?
Affiliate marketing - using one website to drive traffic to another - is an online advertising channel in which advertisers (online merchants that sell products or services) pay web publishers (that promote the products or services of an advertiser on their website) only when the new client introduction results in a business engagement ("pay-for-performance" model). In practice this means, your affiliate website promotes products or services provided by your affiliate partners by displaying their ads and placing links (banner links, text links or similar) to their websites on your pages. In case a visitor on your site clicks a qualified link or, more typically, in case of a visitor's business engagement (sale or lead) via a link from your site, you earn a commision.
There are thousands of affiliate programs to choose from that are willing to partner up with you; however, you have to make the right choice and make sure the products or services you promote somehow match the subject of your own site. Affiliate ads placed on your site should appear as a useful addition to the contents of your pages and match your visitor's interests as otherwise they simply won't click them. In other words - if your website is about cats, don't advertise for dog training schools.
Tip: If you cannot think of suitable affiliate programs that match your site's contents and visitor's interests, just google one of your main keywords (e.g. "cat food") in combination with the search term "affiliate program" = "cat food affiliate program". And of course you find a few examples of affiliate links on this web page :)
Google AdSense is a Google-run ad serving program that allows webmasters
(= publishers) to display Google advertisements on their pages and get "paid per click". This means, every time a visitor clicks a Google ad, Google pays you money. This money comes from Google AdWords advertisers who pay Google to promote their websites via Google AdSense. So indirectly those websites whose ads are displayed in Google AdSense boxes on your site pay you per click (visitors generated by a link from your site).
Webmasters can easily enroll in this program to enable text, image and, more recently, video ads on their sites. These ads generate revenue on either a paid-per-click or per-thousand-impressions basis. The AdWords advertiser chooses the page(s) to display ads on and pays based on CPM (cost-per-
thousand-impressions, or the price advertisers choose to pay for every thousand ads displayed).
Good luck!
