Golf In Pattaya & At The Eastern Seaboard

Driving Ranges - Golf Courses A-Z - Golf Vacation Packages

Golf has probably become the most favourite "waste of time" for a large number of expatriates, tourists and Thais alike. To an even greater extent than the wide range of watersports activities provided along Pattaya beach, Golf has emerged as a typical specialty of the Eastern seaboard region with
more than twenty golf courses in the proximity of Pattaya's residential areas.

Whereas in most Western countries Golf is still deemed an elitist sport for exclusively the rich and club membership fees are far too costly to make it affordable for the average working man, Golf in Pattaya is not just affordable for any Western visitor - it's cheap! Green fees (plus caddy fees) range from only 500 Baht to a maximum of merely 3000 THB! Now if you think "When you pay peanuts you get a monkey!" you might be right if we were talking about plastic toys made in China. Talking about Golf in Thailand, however, you are utterly wrong!
At the Eastern Seaboard of the Gulf of Siam and most within a 60-minutes driving distance from Pattaya City there are more than 20 of Thailand's finest golf courses in tropically evergreen landscapes (read more below). Many of them have been
designed by some of the most famous names in golf course design including Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Nick Faldo or other world-class golf course architects. Due to the influx of tens of thousands of expatriates and the ever-increasing popularity of Golf amongst a growing Thai middle and upper class, Golf has probably become the most favourite leisure activity at the Eastern Seaboard. A quick glance at the lengthy sports pages in the local English language newspapers will show you how BIG Golf really is in Pattaya's expat community.
Additionally, due to the
constantly warm tropical climate it's a never-ending Golf season all through the year! If you don't have your own vehicle there are many specialized agencies that offer regular golf tours or vacation packages. And for those visitors who are less experienced players or just feel like fine-tuning their swing, there are several driving ranges within city limit!

Attention butterflies! Unfortunately it has not yet been clarified at which golf course this image was taken. Reportedly, however, chances of having your "balls" removed (typically during your sleep by your wife) rise significantly when abusing a day of golf with your mates as an excuse for a nightly "butterfly session" at your favourite 19th hole in one of Pattaya's bars!
Serious warning for unserious golfers!
