The official closing hour in designated "entertainment zones" is around 1am (with Pattaya's main entertainment zone stretching from Pattaya Beach Road to 3rd Road in the East, and from North Pattaya Road to the southern end of Walking Street.) Imported spirits shouldn't be more than 120 Baht per glass in most bars. Drinks bought for employees, so-called "lady drinks", are slightly more expensive than regular drinks, but usually don't exceed 100 Baht; the actual price is often posted on the wall or in the drinks menu.
Pattaya bar girls (except for the cashier and the so-called "Mamasan", who is a kind of manager and "pimp" in one person, and manages the various activities of the girls) are actually hostesses or, in more obvious words, prostitutes who are willing to accompany their male customers for an hour or two, or the rest of the night, back to their rooms. To take a girl out of 'her' bar, customers have to pay a so-called bar fine (money paid to the bar directly so that the girl can leave with the customer) of usually around 300 THB. This bar fine will be added to your bill and is generally not refundable.
Pattaya bar girls earn moderate commissions both on bar fines and "lady drinks", giving them an opportunity to increase their generally low base wages - roughly between 2,000 and 4,000 Baht a month. However, the payment of a bar fine (pay bar?) entitles you only to take the lady out of the bar; you will still have to pay her a kind of compensation fee for additional sexual services or just for spending her time with you, even if you shouldn't have sex with her (roughly between 500 and 1000 Baht depending on whether 'short time' or 'long time', high or low season, and the individual expectations of your lady.)
